FATE Scholarship Application
FATE is excited to offer three different scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors from FCPS who have been or are currently enrolled in FATE-associated programs.
FATE is offering Academic, Apprenticeship, and Tool scholarships. Students may apply for more than one type of scholarship. Before beginning your application, please have some information for input:
- Scholarship description needs, including information on your education, experience, and achievements
- Grade Point Average at end of the first semester of senior year
- Extracurricular activities, volunteering opportunities and employment by name and year of participation (i.e. club memberships, leadership positions, awards, and honors)
- If applying for a tool scholarship, please have a detailed list of tools/equipment needed for employment.
Description of Scholarships:
Apprenticeship Scholarship
This scholarship may be used by a Class of 2026 graduate who is pursuing an apprenticeship to focus on skills specific trade training. The funding can be used at an approved employer or the Fairfax County Adult and Community Education (ACE) program. The scholarship award will be up to $2,500.

The apprenticeship scholarship must be used within one year after graduation for any approved apprenticeship program or ACE course that is associated with the scholarship. If the scholarship is not used within that time frame, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.
Academic Scholarship
This scholarship may be used by a Class of 2026 graduate for furthering education at a trade school, community college, other college or university. The post-secondary field of study should relate to the student's high school coursework in the field of Automotive, Carpentry, Residential Construction, Electrical Construction and Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and HVAC-R. Scholarship awards will be up to $2,500 each.
The academic scholarship must be used within one year after graduation for any post-secondary training that is associated with the scholarship. If the scholarship is not used within that time frame, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.
Tool Scholarship
The tool scholarship funds Class of 2026 high school graduates that are seeking a direct route to an industry that requires tools to perform their jobs. Scholarship awards are up to $1,000 each.
The tool scholarships are fulfilled before the end of the school year with the assistance of the awardee's high school CTE instructor.
If the scholarship is not used prior to graduation, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.
