FINANCIAL SUPPORT

FOR QUALITY TRAINING

Academic and Tool scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to students enrolled in FATE-associated programs to encourage them to be a part of the industrial workforce. To be eligible for selection, the applicant must be a current Fairfax County Public School student enrolled in a FATE associated Career and Technical Education (CTE) program with the intention of furthering their education or beginning a career in a related field.

FATE Scholarship Application

FATE is excited to offer three different scholarship opportunities for graduating FCPS students who have been or are currently enrolled in FATE-associated programs to encourage them to be a part of the industrial workforce.

FATE is offering Adult and Community Education (ACE) program, Academic, and Tool scholarships. Before beginning your application please have some information for input:

  • Scholarship description needs, including information on your education, experience, and achievements
  • Grade Point Average at end of the first semester of senior year
  • Extracurricular activities, volunteering opportunities and employment by name and year of participation (i.e. club memberships, leadership ​positions, awards, and honors)
  • One letter of recommendation from your CTE instructor

Description of Scholarships:

Adult and Community Education Scholarship

Offered through the Fairfax County Adult and Community Education (ACE) program, the ACE Apprenticeship Scholarship is an award of up to $1500 for one course exclusive of course materials and fees. Students may further their education in one of the Apprenticeship/Trade Industry classes listed in the link below that is part of continuing education.

The ACE Apprenticeship scholarships are good for one year after graduation for any ACE course that is associated with the scholarship. If the scholarship is not used within that time frame, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.

Academic Scholarship

This scholarship may be used for furthering a student's education at a trade school, community college, other college or university. The post-secondary field of study should relate to the FATE-associated coursework in high school. Scholarship awards are up to $2,500 each.

The academic scholarships are good for one year after graduation for any post-secondary training that is associated with the scholarship. If the scholarship is not used within that time frame, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.

Tool Scholarship

These scholarships fund graduating high school seniors who are seeking a direct route to the industry after graduating high school and require tools to perform their jobs. Scholarship awards are between $500 and $1,000 each.

The tool scholarships are fulfilled immediately after being awarded with the assistance of the awardee's high school instructor. If the scholarship is not used prior to graduation, the awardee will forfeit the scholarship.
